Is it starting to get cooler everywhere else or just Chicago?  I'm really sad to see summer go this year and am going to white knuckle it straight into fall, but I figured a few transitional outfits never hurt anyone.

In random thoughts: I hate when I want to choose something white.  Can you even really see what that blouse looks like?  It's the perfect slouch juxtaposed with the bodycon skirt.  If you can't see it you'll just have to believe me.

Who has jumped on the neon train?  I haven't yet, but I might if I had enough bones for this bag.  Chevron and neon?  Well, well, well!  Color me intrigued.  

Outfit Tuesdays: Summer in the City.

It's been SWELTERING in the city this summer.  If the story box (tv for those who aren't ridiculous) is to be believed it's been hot everywhere.  The world is ending and I stand by the fact that I called this beyond balmy summer way back when everyone was rejoicing over the mild winter.  Extreme weather, folks; it's real.  Al Gore ain't lying.  

I'd be way more upset if I didn't recently move into a place with a pool.  That pool is riiiillllll nice.  

While not lounging at the pool I'd be running around in a breezy dress with fabulous patterns and a pop or two of color.  Is everyone else dying over that Marc Jacobs watch??  I can't stop scrolling up and staring like it's my long-lost love.

It's been SO WARM, y'all.  I'm talking consistent eighty degree weather.  It's bonkers!  We're usually wading through slush and snow at this point of the season, but I'll take it.  Especially if the weather would afford me the ability to wear this.  Not that I could actually afford it.

I'm back, folks!  The Caribbean was beyond beautiful, perfect, and warm.  Now I'm back in the land of the cold.  This outfit might make things a bit easier.   

I'll get around to posting some photos eventually because, frankly, I want to live through it again as much as I possibly can.

Little known fact: I was in the lead all TWENTY THREE days of my family's college football pool.  That was until last night when my dad's special spreadsheet kicked him into the lead (and win!) over the last game beeeecccassuse it was his double points pick.  I call foul.  

This is my own personal hanging chad.  

Which has nothing to do with this outfit, but I just had to vent.

Wow.  I really disappeared on you guys last week, didn't I?  Sorry 'bout that!  Frankly, I needed the break because I've been feeling quite uninspired lately and was hoping the time off would regenerate me.  We'll see if it did the trick.

In the meantime, I threw this little diddy together for y'all.  


I hope you all had very merry holidays!  I spent some lovely time with family and friends, and managed to never put on a coat once in Georgia.  It was incredible.  Pluuuuuuss, Santa brought me an iPad which means I was apparently a good girl this year.  I haven't managed to put it down since.  Let me tell you, flights go a lot faster when you have Downton Abbey to keep you company.

How did the holidays treat all of you?

This is my favorite season to dress.  Before it gets too cold and you have to bring out the sleeping bag coats, but just cold enough that it's apropos to wear leggings and bundle.

I feel like my outfits have been leaning towards the casual as of late and I wanted to spice it up a bit.  These are probably the highest heels I've ever seen, but go big or go home, right?  Right??  Plus, this dress is super sexy without being too revealing, and that, my friends, is not the easiest thing to do.

This outfit deserves to be in a museum gala.  At least, that's how I picture it.

I'M BACK!  Told you I would be flaky, but I guess I turned out to be more of a no-show.  Sorry 'bout that, folks.  I had a BLAST with my girl Andrea and did more in Chicago than I've probably done in the past six months.  Too. Much. Fun.  I can't decide which was my favorite part!  But, I did learn that you should be careful what you put on the internet because a Second City cast member may use it against you during the show. 

It's been weirdly warm in Chicago the past few days.  Like, REALLY warm.  It would be perfectly appropriate to run around in a skirt and sleeveless blouse and I think you should do that.  

Plus, the shoes are from H&M and are cheap.  Aren't they adorable?

I kinda look like a Vikings fan here, but there's nothing better than some mustard-colored knits in the fall, yes?  Throw in some oxfords and you're good to go. 

Also, if you totally disregard the Balenciaga bag, most of these items are affordable.  Wahoo!  And it ain't even a frugal Tuesday.  Give it up, sistah!*

It's officially fall this week and I've decided to embrace it.  In fact, this is my favorite transitional season: when summer turns into fall.  Boots with knee high socks is always an adorable choice and I say you should rock it with skirts as long as you can!   

Plus, neutrals with a pop of color will never do you wrong.
